Geotechnical Engineer

Cardno is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in our Corpus Christi, TX office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

> Perform field sampling of engineering materials and media (soil, concrete, asphalt, etc.).
> Perform construction materials testing services for on-going projects
> Supervise drilling subcontractors
> Perform site evaluations.
> Supervise lab testing.
> Prepare technical reports
> Manage project activities and budgets
> Work with project managers on other assigned tasks
> Review and sign off CMT reports
> Manage upstart geotechnical and CMT operations in the office
> Grow department in the local and regional market
> Manage local geotechnical and CMT project and laboratory
> Client relationship skills
> Organizational acumen
> Driven to match client and management requirements in a fast paced atmosphere
> Ability to manage a small team of professionals across several disciplines

> Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Geology or related construction management
> Four years of experience
> Two years of Experience performing geotechnical and CMT projects
> Travel within 150 miles approximately 25% of the time
> PE licensure in Texas
> Experience in performing materials testing operations including field testing soils, concrete, and asphalt
> Capability to prepare reports documenting test results and observations
> Excellent working knowledge of construction materials testing specifications, ASTMs and the ability to read plans and specifications

Desired Qualifications:

> Microsoft PC applications; Arc GIS experience a plus
> Technical report wiring skills
> Ability to work independently
> Multitask and attention to detail
> Effective communication skills
