The City’s Office of Environmental Quality (OEQ) is committed to protecting and improving the environment by leading and guiding the City of Dallas in our efforts on environmental compliance, pollution prevention and continual improvement. OEQ is currently seeking a Senior Program Manager to work under the Director. The Senior Program Manager reports to the OEQ Director and supervises a team of 10-20 employees.

Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or Doctorate degree preferred) in an engineering, environmental or another science-related field plus ten (10) years of experience in six (6) or more of the following areas: implementing environmental policies and/or training programs; pollution prevention programs; investigation and remediation of impacted soil/groundwater; ISO 14001 programs; compliance program development and implementation; management system auditing; sustainability; report writing; environmental site inspections; environmental enforcement; environmental permit review/preparation; air emission inventory development; coordination with state and federal agencies with jurisdiction regarding environmental issues; public presentations; preparation and review of department/division budget; and/or management of technical environmental staff. Experience should meet or exceed three (3) years supervisory and or program/project management experience with responsibility for budget management/forecasting. Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, MS Office/Excel or similar software skills, a valid driver’s license, and good driving record.

A postgraduate degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
