Wetlands Scientist – Entry to Mid-Level

  • Primary responsibilities: ​
    • Perform wetland delineations
    • Develop Section 404 permit applications
    • Perform habitat evaluations for threatened and endangered species
    • Handle strenuous field work
  • Secondary responsibilities may include: ​
    • Handle avian and aquatic surveys
    • Prepare NEPA documentation and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans
    • Perform Ecological Risk Assessments and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
    • Collecting soil and groundwater samples

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology, environmental science, or related area
  • Wetland delineation training (40-hour) certification is a major plus
  • 2-5+ years of relevant experience. Must have experience providing consulting support on wetland delineation and permitting projects
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to conduct field work and write reports with minimal-to-moderate supervision
  • Proficient in GIS
  • Must have excellent writing skills
  • Occasional travel is required
  • A Background Check and an Alcohol/Drug Screening are required
  • Must have clean driving record and a valid driver’s license
