Wetlands Scientist

Wetlands Scientist – Entry to Mid-Level
- Primary responsibilities:
- Perform wetland delineations
- Develop Section 404 permit applications
- Perform habitat evaluations for threatened and endangered species
- Handle strenuous field work
- Secondary responsibilities may include:
- Handle avian and aquatic surveys
- Prepare NEPA documentation and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans
- Perform Ecological Risk Assessments and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
- Collecting soil and groundwater samples
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology, environmental science, or related area
- Wetland delineation training (40-hour) certification is a major plus
- 2-5+ years of relevant experience. Must have experience providing consulting support on wetland delineation and permitting projects
- Must have the demonstrated ability to conduct field work and write reports with minimal-to-moderate supervision
- Proficient in GIS
- Must have excellent writing skills
- Occasional travel is required
- A Background Check and an Alcohol/Drug Screening are required
- Must have clean driving record and a valid driver’s license
